広地区

広地区は、呉市の中央部に位置し、西には黒瀬川（広大川）、東には白岳山・吉松山、北には市の名勝「白糸の滝」や、広島県指定名勝・天然記念物「二級峡」など、豊かな自然に囲まれています。令和8年6月末現在、約41,846人が暮らし、都市としての利便性と田園風景が調和した、ゆとりあるまちです。地区内には、小学校5校（広南・白岳・広・三坂地・横路）、中学校4校（広南・白岳・広中央・横路）、高等学校3校（広・呉商・呉港）、そして広島国際大学があり、充実した教育環境が整っています。また、広地区は古くから「教育第一」の理念のもと、教育活動が盛んな地域として発展してきました。「広地区教育祭」をはじめ、「文化祭」や「体育行事」など、多彩な教育・文化活動が地域ぐるみで活発に行われており、子どもたちの豊かな学びと地域の絆を育んでいます。

Hiro Town is located in the central part of Kure City. It is bordered by the Kurose River (also known as the Hiro-Okawa River) to the west, Mt. Shiratake and Mt. Yoshimatsu to the east, the famous Shiraito Falls to the north, and the Nikyukyo Gorge, a designated Hiroshima Prefectural Natural Monument. As of the end of June 2026, Hiro Town has a population of approximately 41,846. It is a spacious community where urban development and the natural countryside exist in harmony. The town is home to five elementary schools (Hiro-Minami, Shiratake, Hiro, Misakaji, and Yokoro), four junior high schools (Hiro-Minami, Shiratake, Hiro-Chuo, and Yokoro), three high schools (Hiro, Kure-Sho, and Goko), and one university, Hiroshima International University. Historically, Hiro Town has placed a strong emphasis on education and has long been known as a center of educational excellence. A wide variety of community events, including the Hiro District Education Festival, the Cultural Festival, and local sports events, are held throughout the year, reflecting the town's vibrant educational and cultural traditions.

[East Hiroshima Kure Expressway] From Aga IC, head east on Route 185 for 1.0km (approximately 4 min. by car), and you'll reach Hiro City East Fire Department, right next to it.
